Build a cron schedule you can understand.

Choose when your job should run, inspect the expression, and preview upcoming times.

This tool generates and previews schedules. It does not execute commands or schedule real jobs.

Your schedule

Day of week*

Fields run left to right: minute · hour · day of month · month · day of week. Edit this expression directly or use the builder.

Valid five-field expression

Start with a preset

Set each field

Choose every value, specific values, a range, or a step interval. The expression above stays in sync.

Minute
Hour

Matches every allowed hour value.

Day of month

Matches every allowed day of month value.

Month

Matches every allowed month value.

Day of week

Matches every allowed day of week value.

Day-of-month and day-of-week

When both fields are restricted, Unix cron runs when either one matches (OR). When only one is restricted, that field controls the day.

Plain-English explanation

Every 15 minutes.

The expression does not contain a timezone. Configure the timezone separately in your actual scheduler. DST behavior varies between schedulers; these dates follow cron-parser’s documented timezone behavior. The search stops after 400 years or at year 9999.

Common cron schedule examples

Run every 5 minutes

A step in the minute field repeats every five minutes, starting at minute 0.

*/5 * * * *

Run weekdays at 9 AM

Minute 0, hour 9, Monday (1) through Friday (5).

0 9 * * 1-5

Run every Sunday

Midnight on Sunday. Sunday can be written as 0 or 7.

0 0 * * 0

Run on the first day of the month

Midnight on day 1 in every month.

0 0 1 * *

Five-field Unix cron

The fields are minute (0–59), hour (0–23), day of month (1–31), month (1–12), and day of week (0–7). Sunday is 0 or 7. Month names JAN–DEC and weekday names SUN–SAT are accepted in short or full English form, without regard to case.

Lists, ranges, and steps

Use commas for lists, a hyphen for an inclusive range, and a slash for a step. For example, 1,15 selects two values, 1-5 selects a range, and */5 selects every fifth value from the field minimum.

Limits and compatibility

This builder accepts five fields only. It rejects seconds, named shortcuts, and extensions such as ?, H, L, and #. It does not claim compatibility with Quartz, AWS EventBridge, or every cron scheduler.

Timezone is configured separately

A cron expression has no timezone field. The selected IANA timezone is used only for this preview; set the timezone separately in the scheduler that will run your job. A shared link stores only the expression, timezone, and reference date and time.

Day-of-month and weekday behavior

When both day-of-month and day-of-week fields are restricted, this tool uses the common Unix cron OR rule: a run occurs when either field matches. If only one is restricted, that field determines the day.

DST behavior can vary

Upcoming times are calculated by cron-parser 5.10.2 with its documented timezone handling. Schedulers can treat missing spring-forward times and repeated fall-back times differently. Check the destination scheduler’s behavior before relying on a preview.
