A simple route from photo to file.

  1. Add images

Choose JPG, PNG, HEIC, or HEIF files, or select a folder in a supported browser. File contents are checked before decoding.

  2. Choose the output

Select JPG or PNG. Set optional maximum dimensions and filename rules. JPG quality and background are adjustable; PNG remains lossless at the pixel encoding stage.

  3. Convert and review

Files run one at a time in a worker on this device. Review the actual output dimensions and sizes, then download a result or a bounded ZIP group.

JPG, PNG, HEIC, and HEIF in.

HEIC/HEIF convert to JPG or PNG. JPG and PNG can convert to each other. HEIC/HEIF export is not enabled because the available encoder's GPL component and source-distribution requirements have not passed review.

Manageable groups.

No file-count or daily conversion quota. Each source file can be up to 20 MB, 16 megapixels, and 8,000 pixels on an edge. Results pause in groups of up to 10 files or 100 MB so you can save and clear output memory. Available device memory also affects large batches.

Review the exported file.

JPEG orientation is applied by the browser image decoder. HEIF primary-image orientation follows the decoder's container transforms; additional images and depth maps are not extracted. Re-encoding does not retain source EXIF/GPS metadata. Color profiles, HDR and wide-gamut appearance may change; review the result before using it.

Before you convert.

Can I convert JPG or PNG to HEIC?

HEIC export is currently disabled. The available browser encoder includes GPL-licensed x265 and has source distribution requirements that have not been reviewed for EkkySoft. No HEIC file is created or offered through a renamed JPG/PNG.

Are images uploaded?

The selected image bytes stay in browser memory and are processed in a temporary worker. HEIC/HEIF files use a self-hosted decoder downloaded by the browser, but the image itself is not sent to EkkySoft.

Will every result be smaller?

No. This is a format converter, not a target-size optimizer. Results can be smaller or larger depending on source image, selected output, and quality.

What happens to extra images in a HEIF file?

The tool decodes the primary image only. It does not extract additional still images, bursts, or auxiliary depth maps.

Can I convert an AAE file to JPG or PNG?

No. AAE is an Apple Photos sidecar containing non-destructive edit instructions, not image pixels. It cannot produce an image by itself, and this converter does not apply AAE adjustments. Export the edited photo as JPG or PNG from Apple Photos to preserve its edits, then convert that exported image here if needed. You can also convert the matching HEIC or JPG original, but that output will not include edits stored in the AAE file.

Does the output retain the original metadata?

No. Re-encoding creates a new image and does not copy source EXIF/GPS metadata. Color-profile and HDR appearance may change as pixels pass through the browser decoder and canvas.
