How should pages be separated?

Limits: one PDF up to 20.0 MB, 500 pages, and 100 output files per ZIP. Generated files are capped at 100.0 MB.

The PDF is read in temporary browser memory and processed by a local worker. It is not uploaded to EkkySoft, sent to analytics, or saved in browser storage.

How to split a PDF.

  1. Choose your PDF.

Select one PDF. The page count is checked in your browser before previews and split controls appear.

  2. Choose pages or a split method.

In Extract mode, click previews or enter pages such as 1,3,5-8. You can also split ranges such as 1-3,4-7 or create one PDF per page.

  3. Save the result.

A single output downloads as a PDF. Multiple outputs are collected in a ZIP archive.

Page selection

Enter positive page numbers separated by commas and ranges with a hyphen. Duplicate pages, reversed ranges, empty entries, and page numbers outside the document are rejected. Extracted selections are returned in the document's page order.

Browser processing

The PDF is read into temporary browser memory. Page previews render locally as you scroll, and a local Web Worker creates the selected output. The document is not uploaded to EkkySoft, sent to analytics, or saved in browser storage.

Limits and output

One input PDF can be up to 20 MB and 500 pages. A split can generate at most 100 files per ZIP; each output or archive is capped at 100 MB. Password-protected documents are not supported. Browser memory can still limit complex files.

Troubleshooting.

How do I select pages 1, 3, and 5 through 8?

Choose Extract selected pages and enter 1,3,5-8. The output contains those pages in the original document order.

How do I make one file for each page range?

Choose Split by page ranges and enter ranges separated by commas, for example 1-3,4-7,8-12. Each range becomes a separate PDF inside a ZIP.

Can I split a password-protected PDF?

No. This tool does not decrypt password-protected or encrypted documents. Open the file in a trusted PDF application and export an unencrypted copy if you are authorized to do so.

How can I preview pages before splitting?

Once a PDF is loaded, page thumbnails appear in the preview section. Select pages visually or enter page numbers and ranges; both methods stay synchronized.

What happens to forms, annotations, or signatures?

Pages are copied into new PDFs. Interactive forms, comments or other annotations, bookmarks, signatures, and some metadata may not carry over. Verify outputs before relying on those features.
